What is cold galvanizing?

Cold galvanizing is a process that protects metal from rust and corrosion using a zinc-rich coating. It is typically applied to metal surfaces after cutting, welding, drilling, or fabrication to restore protection similar to original hot-dip galvanizing.

When metal is cut, welded, or drilled, the protective galvanized layer can be damaged or removed. If these exposed areas are not treated, they can quickly rust and corrode, which may weaken the structure and reduce the lifespan of the project.

Cold galvanizing is used in many industries, including fencing and security gate installation, metal fabrication, construction, transportation infrastructure, and government or military projects that require corrosion protection.
